1968 Pioneer Unit beach

Construction on the Pioneer Unit Beach Canoe Dock continues. Unfortunately, the mud stirred up flowed downstream into the main waterfront swimming area & the project was halted. After the first rainfall, all traces of the dock were erased forever.

    I always loved working on the nature trail when i was in the pioneer Unit.  I didn't know anyone tried to build a canoe dock.  Aquatics classes must have been fun!
