Camp Hagan Wayside Exhibit Photo

Here is the place to make your preference known on what photo from Camp Hagan should be used for the Wayside Exhibit.  You can post a photo here, or copy a link from a photo on the website.  You can also use this blog to offer suggestions on a short description for the photo to be used on the site.  So, what picture do you think best exemplifies Camp Hagan?

  • Hopefully we'll see the new design work for the wayside exhibit here soon. - R

  • It would be wonderful if we could add a photo of the Hagan altar in the white space to the right. I will email one that I have, but there may be others out there. Thanks for your efforts on our behalf!  Anne Oldfield

  • I like the idea of the Outdoor Chapel as the Hagan photo.  We have so many good ones and it really is the symbol of the Lutheran camps.

  • Although I understand the desire for a unified, uncluttered exhibit, the vintage Hagan waterfront photo is of poor quality and in no way resembles the waterfront that most of us knew.  Maybe there are better photos out there.

    Hi all;

    From a design perspective, since our proposed location for the actual Wayside Exhibit is at the old Miller waterfront, and the primary photo we're leaning toward using is a vintage black & white photo depicting the waterfront in use approximately fifty to sixty years ago, it would be best to stay with the waterfront theme for our selection of the Hagan image. The idea is to have the view from the actual location of the finished Wayside Exhibit be the same as the scenes depicted in the exhibit itself.

    Additionally, the final photos we choose to use must very good quality, and high resolution in digital form in order to lend themselves to reproducing nicely in the final print process. Ideally we can locate the hard-copy original photos so I can do high resolution scans directly from the original photos.

    Thanks in advance for all your suggestions. - Rod G.

  • I like any of Barb Dando's suggestions. It's difficult to pick one that shows what Hagan really was.

  • I think a photo of the Outdoor Chapel would be nice.  With the exhibit being at Miller, it does not reveal the location of the altar to would be vandals.  An exterior shot of Great Hall would also work well.  We also have a Hagan map that was created for Rafters that shows the entire campus and sites within it.
