A little background for the last 35+ years?

Sent 2 sons and a daughter to Miller and Hagan, before the dam-building project came along. I still have a Camp Miller booklet with pictures, etc. of those at camp. We had field days at Miller, where we competed in various sports events. I entered the twice-around-the-camp run, finished second to Walt Pajawka, and discovered I could run distance. Did it in high school and college and am still at it. At my age (77), it's really jogging, but I compete every year in the Lancaster Senior Games, in my age group. I wasn't on the Miller swim team, but have always swam a lot - got my SR Life Saving at Miller. So, I also swim in the SR Games. Went to Bucknell University, put in 32 years with DuPont, then 11 1/2 years as a rep for a major supplier to DuPont. I pull together 2 DuPont retirement luncheons every year. Mim & I are in a fantastic Christian retirement community, with about 950 residents and all kinds of housing choices. If anyone is looking, check out Garden Spot Village.

Favorite Camp memory?

Pretending to be the farmer who owned the mountain where we camped overnights. One night, I used my false voice and some well-thrown stones for sound effects and scared 2 NY city campers to the point where they ran down the mountain without using any paths. They ran right to the office. Eli checked the overnight sign ups and immediately knew who the farmer was. In my counselor year, I was one of a group who gently lifted Terry Sprinkle's bed (he slept soundly) and ferried him out to the raft. He didn't wake up until morning and had to swim in.

How did you find the site / who referred you?
